yesterday, frustrated by gaining back whatever weight i lose within a few days, i signed up for calorie counter. it wants me to eat only 1900 calories a day...a little worrisome b/c ive always read and been told that when nursing, you need an extra 400-600 calories a day over 2000. but i did some reading yesterday and new research suggests that nursing moms vary b/n needing no extra calories and 600. so i'm trying it out.
as of this morning, i lost the 2 lbs i had gained over the w/e and previously lost last week....

No matter
No matter what time we try to get out of the apt each morning, we never make it out until after 11. This morning's culprit: brown rice. I started some brown rice before we were going to leave, so that I can make a rice and kale casserole for dinner. Within ten minutes, it's setting off the smoke alarms, so we hung around the apt until the rice was finished cooking to make sure nothing bad happened with the rice cooking and alarms. Then, of course, baby wanted to nurse, so our departure was delayed even further. Baby, btw, was 13.1 lbs this morning. Big sister 25.3 lbs. Mom, stable at 170.4. Can't break 170...once I reach 165, I'm officially not overweight anymore, according to the all-knowing Wii Fit....twenty more lbs to my pre-pregnancy weight. :)

Thursday
Last night Kyaw (Joe) and Latt-Latt welcomed their new son to the world. Pretty cool.
We're been to the courthouse and the farmers' market today, now we're off to the park.
Workout last night: team sports. Not sure how tennis is a team sport, but it certainly hurt my shoulder a lot. D said that I'm not doing it right...I have no idea how to play tennis, so that is not a surprise. The basketball was fun and the volleyball okay. All in all, a very good workout again. Then, D and I made a ten minute boxing workout to try too. Fun, but I like the boxing on the Wii Fii program better. :P
Agenda this afternoon: lunch, park, biking, fun with the kiddies.

First night
We bought the new EA Sports game for the Wii yesterday and tried it out last night. I completed one workout between calming and feeding baby #2. Loved it. :)
The personal trainer guides you through all the exercises and tells you how to improve your form, based on feedback from the Wii remote and the nunchuk. The nunchuk is often in the little leg pouch, to tell how deep your lunges are or how fast you are running or if you are kicking high enough. My workout didn't involve the Balance Board last night, but I can customize workouts to include it, so I will do that sometime this week.
My goal is to work out four days a week with the EA Sports game. I also want to take Jacqui for bike rides four days a week. (Once I go back to work, that will have to be cut down to just the weekends, I suspect. But maybe I will get into such good shape that I will start biking to work? :P The whole getting-to-work-all-sweaty-thing might kill that plan once it is really hot out, but we'll see. I did bike to law school for a semester and that was about an hour each way. Maybe I could bike to work...)

We've got something special for you tonight
Just made my second cup of decaf coffee today, this one with the second child. Trying to get her to sleep. Ate one serving of dark chocolate; I had forgotten how yummy dark chocolate is.
Decided to try this out, see if I actually write/chronicle/etc or if this just perishes after a short period of time. Wish me luck.
